I have done this several times. You will need to add support to carry the load the wall carried before you removed it.

If you want a smooth ceiling between the kitchen and family room, you will need to put a beam in the attic above wall before you remove the wall. The ceiling joist are hung to the beam with metal hangers. Then repair the sheet rock and texture, you will have a smooth ceiling from the family room to the kitchen.

If you want an Arch below the ceiling, separating the kitchen ceiling from the family room ceiling, you need to place a support to hold up the ceilings on each side of the wall to be removed. Once the supports are in place, remove the wall and install a beam to hold up the ceiling joist. Once the beam is in place, you can remove the supports on each side of the beam and proceed to frame in the arch.

Either method will require that you add studs to the wall on each end of the beam to hold up the beam. Also you must go under the house and directly under the wall studs holding up the beam, pour a cement circle 18" in diameter and 6 inches high, then place a vapor barrier over the cement and then a pier block between the cement you just poured and the floor.

If you don't provide the support under the floor, the floor around the studs holding up the beam will slowly sink because of the weight being concentrated in a small spot instead of distributed like it was when the wall was still in place.
References :
Done this several times also.

yes, difficult and expensive, just bouncing things around here - if you use a post at one end where you knocked out the load bearing wall, could you build the bar around it?
References :
some handyman experience

My answer is a bit different, and perhaps most people will think I'm a complete nut-case, but that's okay, because I already HAVE financial freedom, and here's how I got it...

1) Believe that God keeps his promises, one of which is to take care of everything. (Jesus, in the sermon on the mount, the Gospel of Matthew, chapters 5-7).

2) Give away as much as possible. The rule of the universe is that when you give to someone, what you get back is at least ten times as much. Please don't take my word for this... go out and try it.

Have you ever heard of tithing? It's not that new a concept, it goes back thousands and thousands of years, to the very beginning of the Bible, in Genesis.

Did you ever wonder, why 10% -- why 1/10th?

It's because it's a perfectly balanced mathematical formula.

If you always get back ten times what you give, then 1/10 really is the MINIMUM you should give.

For example, let's say you just earned $500. If you give away $50, you've guaranteed that another $500 is coming your way. But if you give away $100, then you'll have $1000 coming to you. Give away $200, and next time it will be $2000.

The timing will be different for everyone. For me, I've always gotten results within 3 to 7 days.

Like I said at the start of this, yeah, I know most people will just scoff and think I'm crazy. But if at least ONE person who reads this is inspired to look into it further, then writing this will have been worth the trouble (it's another form of giving).

A final thought... did you know that this is the one promise in the Bible where God says, "TEST me on this. See if I don't do what I promise."

Read the last book of the Old Testament, Malachi. Chapter 3.
References :
financial freedom is to me when you reach that point in life where by you can buy anything you need with cash. no one is stopping you - they are not - pain -- i guess they would miss you and if you were the bread winner they might go hungry.
have enough insurance - start making the hard earn money you make work for you as hard as you did for it. -- yes - you manly but your family will see the ripple effect -- peace of mind == by the way i have reached that goal many years ago.
References :
What do you mean by financial freedom?

Having a source of income that will be able to support me and whoever else depends on me. I will not owe any debts or loans or depend on anyone for handouts -being financially independant.

Why is it important to you?
Being financially free is important to me because it gives me the ability to control and not worry about monetary problems. It also gives a sense of security in way, since our world is so money hungry.

What will it be like to be financially free?
If you previously were not doing well it's literally like lifting a huge weight off of your shoulders. You don't worry about how you are going to pay for this, or whether you have to give up something in order to get something else. No one will bug you about owed money and you have the ability to plan for the future (which brings security for me)

What’s/who’s stopping me on achieving it?
Only yourself. You're the one whose spending the money, or letting someone else spend it for you. You're the one deciding what hours to work and how you handle situations. There is a solution to most every financial problem, it just may not be easy in any aspect.

Why are they stopping me from achieving it now?
Because you are letting them.

How much pain would it be for my family if I die too soon?
Assuming you mean dying before being financially free and independent, it depends. If its your children-financial wise- they may be eligible for social security, as could your spouse.
Other than the grief, as long as they are of an eligible age to work, they can get a job, it may be a minimum wage job, but still a job.

How can I take care of it now? What can I do to start this change? Can I do it now? How?
Yes, you can do it now.
Start by making a budget. No matter how little your income is, you HAVE TO LIVE BELOW YOUR MEANS. This is not just a suggestion, it's FACT. in order to be financially free you must be living below your means. If you can't afford it, just don't buy it.
you also have to realize the difference between a NEED and a WANT. For example even though practically every household in America has a TV, if it was gone, you could still survive, therefore it is a WANT.
Search on google for frugal living tips, and financial advise. Start living by these tips, even if they seem cheap to you, in reality they MAKE SENSE. We're lead to believe we need to live a certain way, usually linked to materialistic belongings,
to be happy, but if all the stuff that made you "happy" cell phone, car, big screen TV, disappeared, would anyone really cry about it? I highly doubt it. Learn to not care whether the person next to you is drinking starbucks, talking on their iphone in their manicured hands, while you carry a refillable bottle of water. It's all just junk and plastic.

Who will benefit from my financial freedom?
Yourself, and anyone else financially dependent on you.

What lasting value would it create for me and my family?
Financially it will help secure them. It may also help strengthen relationships because financial worries and stress can put a burden on relationships. It can affect how one is feeling every day. Also if you have kids, it will teach them how they can act when they are older. There are too many kids today who get $500+ electronics and fashion items at a moment's notice that when they get older and need to support themselves, that spending habbit stays with them. If you have a good plan it will benefit your children by teaching them from example-and that's the most important thing.
