I have inherited the entire contents of a house. The house is only 1000 square ft., but has a lot of beautiful furniture: Setee, dining room set w/ 4 chairs, sideboard, 2 full beds, 2 single beds, 3 very large chairs, end tables, 2 high boy dressers, miscellaneous pieces, books, china, a chandelier, etc. A lot of stuff will be donated or tossed, but I’m going to need to store the furniture. Storage seems very expensive. Has anyone been in this situation before, and what worked best for you?

Buy a storage shed. It may benefit you in the long run, because after you buy your new home, you can use it for something else.

You may want to loan the pieces out to family members under the condition you will get them back when you get a bigger place and can use them. That way they will get dispersed and you won’t have to pay storage and you can reclaim them when you want them back.
