Does bondo work on wood?

I let me brother & sister in law stay at my house while on my honeymoon with the wife and when we returned i had some deep nail scratches on my headboard from their pitbull that was sleeping on my bed with them, ya i know, i wanted to kill them!!! I was just wondering if i could sand, bondo, prep, & paint the wood like you would a car! Anyone know?
I use bondo a lot on exterior wood to repair rot. I have used the minwax wood filler but its no better and twice the price. For interior projects like your headboard I use spackle because its easier to sand. As far as I know , none of my bondo repairs have failed.
i dont think it would sand evenly, because the bondo is harder than the wood. Also tell them I said ,bestiality is a sick Obsession.

I’ve used DAP® Plastic Wood® Solvent Wood Filler (RTU) for that purpose and it works well. You can get a 4oz can for about $5.

Yes it works. You can also get a wood filler that’s very similar except for the color, being beige instead of red.

a small can of SPACKLE will work well. So your brother and sister in law like dogs hugh??? well i guess it takes all kinds.

I have used it and I know many other contractors who use it also it works great and can save a lot of work and it won’t rot
